Z'-X of A cer-tain briskness in the air heralds the begin- ning of another school year and the beginning of another sports year at DHS. The cross country and grid teams practice and earn glory side by side. Gradually the oool fall days give way to the biting winds of winter, and the sports scene moves into the gymnasium and natatorium, where DHS basket-ball and swimming teams vie for honors with other high school teams. Finally the cold winter days lengthen and grow milder, signalling the open- ing of baseball, golf, tennis and track seasons. Throughout the year, from September to the end of May, sports play a major part in student life, both as a social event and as a means of ex- pressing school spirit and athletic prowess. Sports are, and will continue to be, a major part of the student life in the new Dearborn High School. G ,Q O O-5 f KS' ', ... .,g.
