THE CLASS QF 194 QQ CTIVITY and intellect typify the class of '47, With Mr. Wacker as grade adviser, these jolly juniors have whizzed through the past three years in a blaze of glory. Plan- ning dances, walking off with AH certificates, sponsoring assemblies, and joining clubs,--- they have taken all in stride. Jesting Jerry Jarrett chairmaned the annual J- Hop, which holds many happy memoriesg along student governing lines Johnny Coatta became president of the mid year classg Jack McFeggan was elected Vice-President of the Student Coun- cil, while Betty Taepke filled the roll of secre- tary. The grade senators include: Ken Wolfe, Martha Pinches, Mary Ellen Thomson, Jim Mil- ler, and Jim Fruit. Along extra-curricular lines, aviatrix Barbara Abar surprised the school by a solo flightg flut- tering Phyllis Allen delighted everyone in the annual All-School play, awards in the oratorical contest were copped by Don Schmidt! and lucky Marilyn was chosen Bell of the Varsity Club for 1946. Between Yogi I-loedl's famous DHYUGS, MGT- ny Holbeck's athletic prowess, and Bill Her- sey returning to DHS after moving to lowa, the class has had one adventurous happening after another, Concluding the list of who's who in '47 ---- There's Glenn-Myers, trackster Varsity Clubber, better known as the Lord Byron of Wetz's sixth hour geometry classg Louise Rutledge, author of The Fighting Fivei'---a tribute to the Re- gional Basketball Championsg the movie star- rish doubles---those Morton Twinsg and athletic big wigs LeClair, Tiseo, Sebring, Nieman, Of- ferman, and Schlunt.
