Male Callj' senior girls' sponge dance, chairmaned by Catherine Bowyer, initiated the fall social season and in March the class dance, f'Coonskin Caper,', fea- turing newspaper decorations, door prizes, and entertainment proved to be a tribute to Bob Mil- osch and Bill Lawther's enthusiastic planning. Best Foot Forward, senior class play, with a super cast and Nora Amerman as student direc- tor, was tops in entertainmeint and the class party in the cafeteria following the play was a fitting climax. The senior fountain, which this class estaablished, and the Alumni Reunion of May 17, which this class helped sponsor, were other proofs of Forty Six's leadership in school affairs. First girl president of the Student Council, Mar- guerite Hutchison, and class senator, Martha Moore, begin the list of Leaders in Adminis- trative Circlesf' Forward looking policies of Jim Holbcck, Merle Cable, Maxine Moore, and Don McIntyre, who officered the January class, and of Chuck Ctis, Denzil White, Martha Scheonhals, Maureen Golden, Margaret Eschbach, Victor i. , , .7anuary grad: posing in cap: and gowns for posterity arc: scared, Fred Krafl, Lillian Girlz, Bcity .lane Ratlis, Cliarlrs Hummel, Gloria l'lIannz'ng,' standing Rose Mari: Rallu, Dave Coopcr, and Dorothy Lakes with lzcr bark to tlir camera. Jamiesfn. and Tom Zick were evidence that their class- mates had exercised good judgment at election time. Academically we take special bows to Maxine Moore and Ellrose Eichenlaub of the January class and to Joyce Gould and Joanne Johnson of the June class. In D.H.S. it woul' seem that beauty goes hand in hand with brains. Three letter athlete and Varsity Club President, Bill Grigg, Cross Country Captain Ralph Hargraves, :footballers Bob Potthoff, Allen Aldrich and Earl Danes, Varsity Clubbers Bob Neithamer and Melvin Sartin remind us of games and meets not soon to be forgotten. On the distaff side are Sue Wilcox, G.A.A. president, and some of her cohorts Dolores Lloyd, Doris Boyle, Norma Fukalek, and Pat Nicholson. Cheer Leader Jeannie Loftis kept the student body en- thusiastically yelling for school teams. Dramatically speaking, we think of Betty Jo McGuire' talented performances, of George Peppard's professionally rendered ad libs, of Johnny Schuh's enthusiastic contri- butions to school plays, and of Aaron Schrader's unforget- table characterizations. Musical talent was plentiful .... Jeanne Metelski excelled as a pianistg Charlotte Parham, and Margie Trost provided vocal entertainment, Jack Hunsicker represented the clas in the school band. Journalist Ben Riddle edited a newsy OBSERVER and alon with Faye Caughey and Maureen Golden was rewarde by being chosen for membership in Quill and Scroll. Artistic Lillian St. Dennis, Virginia Hollingsworth Shirli Symonds, and Allen Jay were responsble for some of th outstanding displays in the lobby show cases and for arf istic contributions to the PIONEERf Honored for scientific achievement were David Cooper Oliver Boss, Chuck Otis, Joanne John ' Briggs and Ralph Vogler.
