MEET THE PEOPLE WHO U SCHOOL With great patience and fortitude, Principal Otto H. Olsen directs the course of human events at Dearborn High School. It is Mr. Q1- sen's belief that responsibility goes hand in hand with privilege. He feels that in a demo- cracy everyone should be Willing to do his part. This explains why student government is so important at Dearborn High. Mr. Olsen re- ceived his A. B. from Central Michigan State, and his M. A. from the University of Wiscon- sin. Miss Amy Betts served as Assistant Principal during Mr. Challis' absence, and now holds that position jointly with him. However, most stu- dents are more familiar with Miss Betts in the capacity of an adviser. She has become a local information bureau and her judgment is sought on any question pertaining to enrollment or curriculm. She received her A. B. at Hillsdale, and her M.A. from the University of Michigan. Dean Challis, Assisant Prin- cipal, has just returned to the position which he left in 1943 to serve as a Lieutenant in the navy. He now teaches aeronautics and relieves Mr. 'Olsen of a great deal of work. Mr. Challis received his A. B. from Michigan State Normal, and his M. A. from the Uni- versity of Michigan. Miss Mildred Mitchell, who was Acting Assistant Princi- pal and attendance officer during Mr. Challis' absence, is now devoting all her time to the latter duty. Just how well she excutes her duties is easily seen in Dearborn High Schoolis good atten- dance record. She received her A. B. from the Univer- sity of Kansas, and her M. A. from the University of Michigan.
