Mr. Harvey Lowrey, Superintendent of the Dearborn Public Schools, has been supervising this school system since February 15, 1922, and he plans to retire at the close of this term. We of Dearborn High, although we have known him only during the past two years since the consolidation of Districts Seven and Eight, appreciate the work he has done. At this time we offer our congratulations for a job well done and we sincerely hope that Mr. Lowrey will enjoy the rest he so richly deserves. Mr. Lowrey received his A.B. degree from Central Michigan State, and his M.A. from the University of Michigan. Mr. Ray H. Adams, Deputy Superintendent, has charge of hir- ing teachers for the Dearborn Public Schools. Dearborn High regards Mr. Adams as a favorite son, because of his close rela- tionship to this school. Before the two Dearborn school districts consolidated he was Superintendent of Schools in District Seven and had his office in Dearborn High School. He received his A.B. at Western State, and his M.A. from the University of Michigan.

The pun would not be applicable to Dear- born'5 Board, however, for this policy-making group is kept busy most of the time formulating new plans and carrying out others in order to maintain Dearborn's high standing as a school system. Dearborn is not only the fifth largest system in the state, ranking only after Detroit, Lansing, Grand Rapids, Flint, but it is also ranked as one of the outstanding systems in the state and in the country. Hiring competent teachers, providing fine buildings, and making sure that each student has every opportunity to receive a sound education is the job of this Board of Education, and these seven men conscientiously Work toward that goal.
