CLASS PROPHECY Well folks, here we are at the Class of '67 reunion. This is the tenth anniversary of our graduation, and we're living it up. We're having a celebration in my Greenwich Village garret. It's not much to live in, but it inspires my writing. I'm Bill Johnson. With their heads in the icebox, I see Robin Orman and Mike Johnston. Robin is a radio announcer with RKLW in Nash- ville, and Mike is head of the QNUGDJ National Union Of Gravediggers. I wonder what they're in the refrigerator for? ln a dingy corner sits John Reynard, a maintenance technician at an American Motors plant. vociferating on the merits ofthe new Rambler. Pretending to be listening are Major Dale Flannery, Chief of U. S. Army Intelligence and Dick Marquell, guard for the Boston Celtics. There's abunch ofthem sitting at a table playing euchre, but I can't see for all the smoke. Oh yes, there's Fred Crawford. fWait a minutehl He's working on somebody's back! CFred's a chiropractorj. Back to the card game - I see Glenn Michael, who works for a manufacturing company: David Swartz, a trapper for the Hudson Bay Company: Dave Grove, a grain farmer and Joe Scott, a communications engineer. There's someone else, but I can't see him because of the stack of money in front of him. OH! OH! It's John Louck, owner of the Losers A-go-go Casino in Vegas. Onthe other side of the room, there is a brawl. They're fighting over who gets to take Pat Beall, the international movie star, out after the party. Bobby Strong and Steve Sargent, both in the Air Force, are on the floor. They're out cold. Larry Jefferis, Bill Minor, Joe DeHaven and Jay Potter are still going strong. Jefferis is now a tool-and-die maker: Minor is a cattleman: DeHaven is an electronics engineer: and Jay Potter is the President- of Consolidated Sideburns Corporation. Diana Readle, more frequently known as Agent 99 of the C. l.A. is crawling out of a ventilation duct with a mini-camera and mini-tape recorder, so that she can provide momentos for the class to remember this reunion by. Sitting on the couch fmy one piece of furniture that's worth anythingj are Mary QDanielJ Swartz, who is a housewife with 47 kids: Marilyn Thurnau, a nurse in the psychiatric ward at Bellevue Hospital in New York City: and Sara Clark, fulltime Cheerleader for the Green Bay Packers. l'm going to have to cut off my narration now. The brawl is moving over to this side of the room. Written by W. Brian Johnson
