Under the capable tutoring of Coach O.N. Hunter and Line Coach Fred Will, the DeSotoans were undefeated in eight games of conference play. Their only loss was a mid- season affair at the hands of St. Vincents of Perryville, a team that went unde- feated throughout the season. Speed proved to be the most essential factor in the harclhitting attack of the Dragons. ns the season closed, records showed that opposition teams had scored only 19 points against the local squad during the season, compared to the DHS total of 208. The only team opposing them was Crystal City. An offensive punch, mixed with effective aerial attacks, and a hard charging attack, characterized their play. Swift, deceptive backs and some heavy men in the line contributed to the ripping ground attack, but the main factor in their victories was efficient teamwork.
