Playing with- out the services of either Backof or Bill Parmeley the home team played one of their best games of the year although they were beaten 26 to 12. Lloyd Jett and Bob Parmeley play- ed very good on offense while Bud Tyner was the defensive star. The De Soto Eleven again left their home field for their fifth game to meet their greatest rival the Crystal City Hornets. ln a hard fought battle they came off second best by a score of 12 to 0. Tackle Campbell and End Bob McKay were very effective. On meeting Festus the following week the Dragons played what was perhaps their worst game of the season which saw eight regulars sidelined with injuries and the Tigers of Festus came away with a 20 to 7 victory. The boys in green were in for their fifth consecutive defeat as they battled a strong Fredricktown team at Fredrlcktown on even terms in the first half and then fell victim to superior weight and a very muddy field as they took their worst beating of the year 19 0 In the final game of the season the Flat River Tigers came to De Soto and returned home on the short end of a 26 to 0 score The Dragons played their best all around game of the season Ends Hedger and Bob Parmeley along with Backfield men Johnston, Bill Parmeley and Backof, led by McKay s blocking, played outstanding games The Baby Dragons , the freshman sophomore squad played under the tutelage of Coach Jack Finney and had a season s record of 2 to 4 in the six games played After losing 26 to 0 to Harky 1n the season s openers they bounced back and beat the same team 7 to 0 on October tenth Harry Chapman making the touchdown Two days later they downed Festus 18 to 7 Drury tallying twice on passes from Pollock, and Harness scoring the other On October twenty sixth tl1e Crystal Squad dropped the Baby Dragons 24 to 13 Drury and Bob Hall scored for the Dragons VARSITY SCORING TEAM SCORING INDIVIDUAL SCORING WILLIAM W They Player Points DQYLE WOLLARD St Vincent B111 Parmeley POLLOCK Herculaneum Bob Parmelay Ste Genevieve B111 Backof Farmington Harold Hedger Crystal City Charles Johnston Festus Bob McKay Fredricktown Donald Sansoucie Flat River TOTAL TOTAL 19 THE BABY DRAGONS HARRY JERRY MITC H B ILLY BILLY JAMES STEPHEN CHAPMAN DORLAC DRURY HARNESS KRODING ER NAPPIER PAUL ' I , e .
