FOREWORU Human history becomes more and more a race between education and catastrophe. No statement could be more important or truthful in this day of crises and disorders. It is the job of our school system to offer this edu- cation-a job that is being well done. The opportunity is great for sf well- rounded, balanced educationg yet some of us still choose catastrophe. The trend is, however, more and more toward hard work and real study. We should be proud that our school is growing and changing to meet this trend toward higher, more complex education. Since it is the duty of a high school yearbook to vividly and accurately portray this process of learning and growing, we and the other members of the staff have made changes in the production of the Leopard to meet this trend. More pages have been added so that the many faces and intricacies of th-is learning process can be shown. We hope that among the mistakes we have made there can be seen good portions and good ideas that will stand out and be remembered. 70 JIM? fascia, 9'

DEUICATION Since better education is paramount in the thinking of most students in DHS, they, the students, have dedicated this 1962 Leopard to one devoted to his profession and to the betterment of education, Rolfe Wylie. Although Uncle Sam has claimed him most of this term, the students still fond- ly recall his friendliness, helpfulness, and sportsmanship. They look forward to his return to DHS. 5
