Education commences at the mother's knee, and every word spoken within the hearsay of little children tends toward the formation of character. How very true this quotation, but we have nothing to fear, for we have received a Catholic Education. This is the kind of education for which children are fitted, the kind par- ents want them to have, and the kind of education to which they have a right, as free Amerioen-born citizens. we owe our worthy education to the work of many faithful and zealous sisters and priests. They have made many see- rifices, endeavouring to install in the students the de- sire to strive for the highest goal obtainable, namely; -- eternal life in the world to come. we can only gain this with the teachings and guidance of Catholic Educators, who implant in the hearts and minds, and in the sou1,knowledge love and zeal for the service of God. They are doing what Christ intended them to do, educating children for God an country. In a Catholic school we find the phases of men- tal development, stressed hand in hand with the develop- ment of moral consciousness. Right now many of us do not fully appreciate the value of the untiring efforts of the Catholic sisters, but in the years to come we will be more than thankful that we have had a good, solid Cathalic edu- cation. If there was only some way in which we could show our ap- preeintion, but this is impossible for we, the Catholic- youth, can never repay the Catholic Educators for their supreme wnrk, and untiring efforts, therefore, we,as afar- vent Thank You , dedicate the De Paduan to all Catholic Educators, but especially to the untiring, loving and -- zealous work of the Franciscan sisters and priests, Ihoare molding the lives and characters of the youth, according to the will of our Creator, and we shall ever be mindful of the benefits they have given us in our spiritual pre- paration for life. May God reward them with eternal hap- piness in the life to come.
