27 Holly Hap Christmas Dance was held this evening and a large crowd attended and everyone had an enjoyable time. lb hopetl -JANUARY- 1 Happy New Year Everybodyll 6 And back to school again. My how good it feels to be back ------ Oh yea :11! 7 Why so many scared looks on the faces of Thes- pians? Reason? Declamatory tryouts. Results were: Oratorical-Robert PinkowskigBenedict Pag- ao; Joe Tarasewicz. Dramatic-Ardythe Mueller; Patricia Carlin; Dorothy Schreiner. Humorous- Dorothy Selner; Betty Peterson; Jeanne Wadak. 10 De Padua plays Park Falls and beats them 22-30. Come on boys, we're all for you. 15 What: Another victory! Yep, over our old ri- vals Ashland High with a score of 32--36. Our boys certainly showed extraordinary fighting spirit. 17 Whoopee! Are we going to town. De Padua beats Bessemer 31-29. Keep it up--we want more. 21 St. Agnes Day--no school. Dear me: This con- stant winning gets to be a bore, but hold your hats 'cause the headlines says, De Padua Tops Whahburn High 27-11 . Good old Innes sure can plunk 'em in. . 22-23 . Many brows are unnaturally furrowedt Reason??? That same regular gruesome task-semester exams. 24 Ah: Now I can relax. Tests are over. 0h death where is thy sting? Yea, kiddies, we got beat by St. Ambrose 26-13 but our boys played a very good game and we're on to more victories: 27 New semester begins. Father Jahn addressed the student body. Gee, I sure am glad I don't live in China. lhyl? Say, didn't you hear Father Norbert. He gave a very interesting talk on his missionary work in China. 28 We watched the DPH-Superior Cathedral game to a thrilling finish when our quintet lost during the closing minutes of play by only 2 small points. The final score being 27-29.

-DECEMBER- 5 Thespians present an Amateur Hour this morn- ing for the High Sch001 and this afternoon for the grades. It consisted of 5 one-act p1ays-- School of Rhythm , Gorilla , Who Gets The Car Tonite, Whether or Not , Slightly Exag- gerated. First home basketball game--Mellen-- boy did we give them a trimminglt 4 Retreat begins. Father Norbert, retreat mas- ter. 5 Mmm, mmmmmmm, mm tean't talk, retreatt Mmmmmmm. 6 Mm mmmm mm--High Mass at St. Agnes Church. 7 Freshmen elect officers. 8 Reception of 96 new members in the Sodality of Our Lady. The Reception Breakfast was arranged by the Social Life Committee for all the Sodal- ists. Thanks to the Senior Mothers in appreci- ation for the wonderful breakfast. 10 Everyone was present at the to 3:30. '0' 0 y 13 Another big game. We topped Hayward 28-15.---I told you! we certainly are warming up. 16 Big snow storm and no school. Boy, what luck. 17 Thespians Christmas Party came off this even- ing. A11 present had an enjoyable evening. 18 A P.T.A. Christmas Program was held this even- ing at the social hall. Thespians presented a contribution of three one-act plays. About 550 people were present. 20 Christmas parties were held in evary room this afternoon. Christmas vacation began at 3:30 on the dot. Thespians cheered up the patients in the Pure Air Sanitorium in Bayfield by giving 3 plays for them. 22 Another exciting basketball game--but we didn't win. Courage kiddies, this is just the beginn- ing. Just the beginning. 25 Merry Christmas.

An exhibit of Catholic books and magazines.has been posted on the hall bulletin boards. 2 Achievement Day sponsored by Our Lady's Commit- tee. This will continue to the Feast of the Annunciation, March 25. 7 V Basketball dance was held after DPH-thefield game. or course, we won. 5 Ah! Another victory OVER Ashland High 27-23.0ur boys sure deserve a hand AND a big one too. 11 De Paduane were thrilled by the movie presented this afternoon. Lorna Doone ,the English clas- 51..- I y u . A , ., . edy, gave everkone a full share of excitiig en- tertainment. 13 Declamatory contest was held. Results: Orator- ical-Joa Tarasew1cz; Dramatic-Dorothy Schriener Humorous-Betty Peterson. 14 Wishburn bowed low to DPH in today's game being defeated by a score of 41-24. Bill Innes led the scoring for DPH by obtaining 13 points. 18 Ho humy-just another victory--this time over a sad Mellem group 23-25. 21 0h ohtl :1 What's thatl! Yes: No! Bessemer beat Ee.--28-18. 26 Lent begins today. An assembly was held this morning. Hugo Ledin stirs society with a suspi- cious-looking Shiner . Ah: me! These doors, eh Hugo? -MARCH- 2 Guess whom we played today? Yep: Superior Cath- edral and did we show them when our ----- oops!!! My goodness: This doesn't go in hereXNo kiddies we lost 36-23. 4 Movie was presented by Father Raphea1-- oops:$l
