One-act players Dorothy Schreiner, Patricia Carlin, Edith Peters, Kathryn Davis, and Betty Peterson talk things over as they rest after the performance. May I have your autograph? ....right below.... Bob Miller be1i6ves in hypnotizing the dear Little Lady -- poor Ray he seems to have another title now. Benedict Pagac wathces closely as if to see that Bob does it right. Just a little more Bob..there she's nearly under. Watch. Sleep: when I tell you to sleep. She won't sleep Coach. Joseph Tarasewicz as the the Other woman seems not a bit worried as the fallen corpse of the little lady lies at her feet. Oh, for a yellow gown like Joe's. 57

56 DE PADUA THESPIANS Hear yel Hear ye! Lend me your ears: The Speech Club was reorganized in September, under the capable supervision of Sister M. Stilla.Ita first meeting was called to order, by Earle Gingles, the president. Presiding officers are Dorothy Schreiner, vioe president; Jeanne lhdak, secretary; and Robert Pinkowski, treasurer. The club is called the De Padua Thespians and meet- ings were held the first Friday of every month. At our meetings topics of dramatic interest are studied such es-modern p1eywrights,stage light- ing, make-up,costumes, etc. To pep up the meet- ings, skits or other entertainments were given either by members or outside talent. At our first appearance the Thespians pre- sented the play The Other Sheep , sponsored by the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine. Father Peter Meyer is the Director, for this Diocese. Our second appearance was the Open Forum-- discussion on the Presidential Candidates. The next big event was the Amateur Hour Contest. It was truly an hour of rollicking fun. Five one act plays were given. A few weeks later, a Tea was held for the members of the club. At the Christmas program sponsored by the P.T.A., the Thespians again gave three skits. On December 20th, they entertained at the Pure Air Sanitar- ium for the inmates. Then came the time to show our true drama- tic ability, the Declamatory Contest. Those ta- king part were: Patricia Carlin, Benedict Pages Dorothy Schreiner, Dorothy Selner, Betty Peter- son, Jeanne thak, Ardythe Mueller, RObert Pin- kowski, Joe Tarasewicz. Next came National Drama week. This found a ready group engaged in a One Act Play Contest$l It was a great success. The crowning event of our activities, was the Class Play. Yes, we are truly proud to be Theapians of De Padua and we tried our best in doing our part by being active and progressive, in developing our dramatic abilities. May this course prove an incentive for all Theapiens to be leaders especially in the filtering field of Catholic Action.
