Vocational Agriculture , probably the most use- ful course offered in a farming community, teaches the basic ideas of agriculture as well as the specialized areas of agri-business. Students learn by using the material gained in the class- room on their own projects. Ag. students gained valuable experience by showing their animals in area livestock shows. They attended the De Leon, Comanche , Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Houston shows this year and came back with several awards.

E ----.:i.kk A 1' DHS students interested in business careers are offered typing, book- keeping, general business this year. Bookkeeping students learn to keep books that resemble those in a real business by working on practice sets. In typing, students develop their typing skill through the use of records that dictate to music. General business students learn to manage a budget, take care of checking and saving accounts, and fundamental bookkeeping. They also try their hand at buying and selling stock in class. ' Last year's typing team , Sammy Holland , Shirlee Chupp, and Cindy Buckley, won De Leon's 31st consecutive district championship.
