arsit Baseball C. .L. Champions Under the tutelage of Coaches Lafferty and Tamony, this year's edition of the Varsity compiled the best Won - lost record, Won the C.A. L. title and a place in the North Coast Section Playoff--all firsts in DLS history. This year's club boasted hitters with . 400 batting averages, led by seniors Mark Bolin and Gil Ruiz and by junior Matt Taylor. Taylor led the club With 22 RBl's followed by Mark Bolin's 20. The pitching staff was anchord by lefty Bill Cashman Who had an 9-l record and an 0. 75 ERA. Strong performances were also turned in by Tom Dowd and jim Burke. The team league record was 13-4 and over-all stood at 17-7-l. Mark Bolin was named CAL player of the year.
