Frosh Baseball C.A.L. Champs The Frosh baseball team finished with a record of 9-2-l. They did it with truly remarkable pitching and hitting. The baby Spartans had three hitters who batted over 400, Tonno Lazio, C4075 Dave Diquattro 14295 and the team leader Matt Castello 14941. Julius Esposito hit 375 for the freshemn and led the team with eleven RBI's. On the mound, the freshmen had pitchers like Chris Stangel Who, in 20 and 213 innings, struck out thirty-three batters. Junior Varsity Basketball This year was a learning one for the DLS J'V's, with coach Kaliski leading the Way. The team started slowly, with a l-8 record, but the turning point of the season was their come-from-behind vic- tory over Liberty. Down by ten in the last quarter, they rallied to Win 54-50. They compiled a 7-7 record for the re- mainder of the campaign. Kaliski seemed to stress discipline in his coaching, and it showed by the steady improvement of the team over the season. The JV team members hope to be a welcomed addi- tion to next year's Varsity.
