Christian Education ot Youth - Papal Encyclical Page 5 Page 5 an 5 ., -lf-. K 'Sb-we 4 5- ,.1 Ti, H., yi fold H3 is -f-'71TI '5 ! As products of a Christian Broth- ers' education, we are often referred to as Brothers boys . Few Brothers, however, deserve the title of a Boy's Brother as much as Brother H. Edward-the man to whom we humbly dedicate this annual. Brother Edward, in all of his twenty-five years as a Brother, has found something rich and rewarding in the education of young men. For this reason, his life has been dedicated to the leaders ot tomorrow -- the Christian youth. His interest in basketball has paved the way into the hearts of many boys. Once you have dunked buckets with this exemplary Brother, you realize you have found a man you can trust and have confidence in, a man who is always willing to help you out -you have found a per- sonal friend. Brother Edward has made a lasting impression on all of us. We think there is something special about him that is the cause of the im- pression he makes, His rare understanding that students are alive is the motivating factor ot his bubbling, eifervescent quality of jollity and fellowship. Whether the question is What is the I-Ianseatic League? or Brother, did you make that hook shot? his answer is always permeated with his jovial and sincere spirit oi comradeship. In living a life of service and leadership in physical, mental and moral education, Brother Edward is truly the edifying model of a boy's Brother. To the party of the second part is given the rights and duties, joys and hardships, of the party of the first partg they must dedicate themselves with all of their energy to secure for themselves a genuine Christian education if what has been heretofore attested is to be recognized as valid. This document composed and approved by the seniors of De La Salle High School, also attests to the following: that the party of the second part, the underclassmen, are the sole heirs of leadership in the school, being so bound, they must make use of same to better both themselves and the school: they shall conduct themselves with the same decorum and obedience as have all the classes before them Therefore, as the seniors of De La Salle High School, we do consent with full authority to the above concessions. We likewise do hereby solemnly bestow upon the said underclassman our best wishes for a successful future, both as students and as the future Catholic citizens of our great land.
