It can be seen in the improvements made in the school, such as the new lunchroom facilities and the remodeling of the skyway hall. Another major change was the addition of honors courses to the curriculum. Students taking these classes received an accelerated grade point for their extra efforts. One of these classes, calculus, was taught by Dr. Walter in addition to his other duties. The danceline grew tremendously this year. The dedication of the energetic De'lites helped them to present to the fans an outstanding half-time show. The enormous amount of practice time each of the De'lites spent helped them perfect their performance and create new dances. During their practice time they did a variety of things such as turns, kicks, stretches, and especially practice their roll-downs. Another thing they got much practice on was the splits. The splits and kicks above your head were requirements in order to make the squad. The girls hod o lor of fun on and off the court ond discovered that tennis wos truly the most worthwhile sport. The season wos also filled with o lot of nontennis related fun. There were a lor of sweatshirt fights, crying contests, ond cheese boll shooting held in the bock of the green and white von.
