Once Upon A This year’s musical was based on an uproarious Broadway hit, the satirical version of an old fairy tale. It’s the “inside story’’ of what really happened to the famous princess who was so sensitive that she couldn’t sleep on twenty downy mattresses when one pea was placed underneath. There were many sub-plots, catchy songs, and much humor to entertain us on the way to the conclusion in which the kingdom is restored to order, all ends well, and everyone rejoices. The musical was performed Nov. 6,7, and 8. The cast sits on the stage while standing in front are others also important to the production. Many others were involved, including the band whose work was so important to the production of a musical. The Saturday evening performance was in the nature of a dinner theater, with the meal planned and prepared by Mrs. Kay Johnson. The meal was served in the Casanova Room, and afterwards the dinner theater audience adjourned to Room 120 to watch the musical’s performance. 28
