The coronation of Bridget Cassidy and Robert Jacob as Homecoming royalty was one of the highlights of Homecoming Week, Sept. 29th to Oct. 3rd. The program was short but festive, featuring theme music played by Mr. Leigh Anderson on his guitar. Each class’s contestants were announced; they marched down the aisle by twos, and then the finalists were announced after their names were drawn from envelopes. The senior finalists were the king and queen. Royalty and attendants were (from left) Michelle Eskro and Ben Wilkie, freshmen; Maria Rucke and Troy Barnard, sophomores; Mary Schneider and Joe Hyser, juniors; Queen Bridget and King Robert; Anne Soltys and Pete Dotray, Theresa Fisher and Warren Hildreth, and Peggy Torborg and Dan Kaiser, seniors. Homecoming Week Highlights Fun And Football Homecoming Week united the entire school in enthusiasm and excitement during the pep fests, special events, football game, coronation, and the homecoming dance. The Student Union planned the Homecoming festivities and was in charge throughout the week. Monday, Sept. 29th, was Tie Day. Everyone tried to outdo Brother Chris. Tuesday was Dress-up Day and many students wore something special. Wednesday was Hat Day. Thursday was Western Day. Friday was Black and Gold Day, and the idea was to wear something in the school colors. Hats off to the freshmen! Left to right, Margaret Loftus, Peggy Johnson, Gina Bury, Sue Eickhoff, and Sue Chryklund wear their original creations. The daily assembly period was the focal point for fun but some days events took place outside as well.
