America celeblu ated its two Hundred year old existence. The midwest suffern ed through a long drought that, destroyed many crOps. Minneapolis Opened .1 new park on our Island, as a Bicentennial present. to the city. The DeLa Salle Band took advantage of the new entertainment center anti used it .for a fall concert. The school planner a major fund raising drive to raise Seventy Thousand Dollars. The Stuient Union worked over the smnlner to reorganize. Students worked and played, knowing that. at. the end of. Summer they would return to the Island in the river to begin a new year.
