Only a few of the more courageous De men wear the white uniforms of the cheer leaders. Their purpose is to unify the student body in support of another activity. Their first purpose is to give; and, in the past year, their sacrifice and initiative have urged many De teams to victory. This year the rabble-rousers have two goals: a state-championship and a female section. 27

For years this question has been asked of Brother Oliver. Well, try to imagine a Delta or Islander without pictures of the vari-ious activities. Much as the two staffs hate to admit it, the readers look for the pictures first. Any article, no matter how well written, is given life by a picture. The few Camera Club members strive to supply all necessary prints promptly and cheerfully. The members believe that the experience gained from this activity will prove valuable in later years. The National Honor Society is a nationwide organization whose purpose is to recognize those students who have made outstanding achievements in the fields of scholarship, character, leadership, and service. It is composed of high school Seniors who have been judged worthy of the honor by a board of faculty members. Dc La Salle’s chapter of the N.H.S. has been quite active this year. It has undertaken a variety of projects of benefit to the school. The largest project of the N.H.S. has no doubt been the paperback bookstore, which has enlarged its stock considerably this past year. The bookstore is a great service for the students, providing a wealth of good, inexpensive literature at a convenient location. Other serv- K Kctter, J. Moore, J. The National Honor Society members can be proud of their lasting contributions to the school, with special thanks being due to Mr. Casanova, ices provided by the N.H.S. include occasional the moderator. 28
