STANDING L. to R: T. Louzon, R. Brctzkc, R. Sorensen, H. Cope, R. Kuglcr, D. Blassing-ham. SEATED: T. Snegoski, J. Vargo. What is the purpose of the Camera Club? For years this question has been asked of Brother Oliver. Well, try to imagine a Delta or Islander without pictures of the vari-ious activities. Much as the two staffs hate to admit it, the readers look for the pictures first. Any article, no matter how well written, is given life by a picture. The few Camera Club members strive to supply all necessary prints promptly and cheerfully. The members believe that the experience gained from this activity will prove valuable in later years. Who knows, perhaps Mr. Plctsch started this way. 26 Bob Sorensen developing a picture.

Bcnildus Club members at a daily prayer session. “All other extra-curricular clubs have the development of the talents of the members as one of their chief objectives. This vocation club differs in that it has as its chief objective the will of God. It calls for unselfishness on the part of the members in that they arc expending themselves in behalf of the entire student body.” — Bcnildus Club Constitution. Under the supervision of Brother Dominic, the Blessed Bcnildus Vocation Club has become reinstated at DE. A part of the Archconfratcrnity of the Divine Child, this club promotes priestly vocations primarily through prayer. Also, as part of its program, the Bcnildus Club is organizing a vocation pamphlet rack to make available to students information concerning the various religious orders. The members meet during the first five minutes of the Senior lunch period in the Brothers’ chapel to recite a decade of the rosary. All seniors are invited. Organizational meetings are held once a month. Speakers are invited to these meetings to present and discuss various topics consistent with the club’s goals. Many worthwhile ideas and projects have developed from these meetings. The Bcnildus Club officers, Louis Grams, Charles Brambilla, Robert Abdo, and David Uhlcr, head the group of about thirty members. It is hoped that their efforts, together with the continuous support of Brother Dominic, will establish the Benildus Club as a worthwhile facet of Dc La Salle life. 25

Only a few of the more courageous De men wear the white uniforms of the cheer leaders. Their purpose is to unify the student body in support of another activity. Their first purpose is to give; and, in the past year, their sacrifice and initiative have urged many De teams to victory. This year the rabble-rousers have two goals: a state-championship and a female section. 27
