RETREAT Early this year the Seniors were given a two-day intermission in their school life. These few days, sj ent in an environment of silence and solitude at Buffalo, Minnesota, gave the graduates to-be a chance to corral themselves to think. Upon arriving, the students were warmly greeted by the director, Father McManus, and briefed on the significance of the retreat. During the retreat the Seniors found time to pull themselves back to earth and realize what their main purpose in life is. Private conferences were offered by the retreat masters, Father Keg-Icr and Father Wagner. At the end of the retreat each Senior found himself with a renewed sense of responsibility and dedication to God.

Slump, R. Abdo, L. Lynch. The Senior Senate is a group composed of the Senior class officers, the advisor)' presidents, and the semi-finalists in the September class elections. The purpose of the Senate is to shift some responsibility from the teachers to the students, thereby relieving the faculty of unnecessary burdens and bringing the idea of school government closer to the students. Consequently, since all advisories are represented, the entire class is familiarized with the senate’s plans. The senate is responsible for and controls the activities of the Senior class. It organizes dances, homecoming festivities, “Sno-Dazc,” various sporting events, and slogan and poster contests. But more important, the Senate sets the tone of the school. It is behind the student body one-hundred percent, and works its hardest to make the class and the school what it should be. Senior Class Officers, L. to R. — Loren Lynch, Business Manager; James Gamble, Secretary; Steve Hedges, 2nd Vice-President: Bill Shimp, President; Bob Abdo, 1st Vice-President; Lenny Jcnks, Treasurer. 24
