it yytc ytyslg at Nicholas Wilmes Nick Wilmes, De's dedicated engineer and reliable maintenance man for the past 22 years, vvas stricken with a heart attack in the early morning hours of November l. Later in the day he passed away at St. Mary's Hospital. The members of the senior class attended his funeral Mass which was held at Resurrection church. Nick vvas interred in the National Cemetery at Fort Snelling, Nick will not soon be forgotten by the facultv and student body of De La Salle for his many years of devoted service. 13

The ringed hand is a representation of God the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity. lt is symbolic of His great love and of His work of enlight- enment. The Holy Spirit completes the work of sanctifica- tion begun by God the Son. He is the guide and inspira- tion of all Chris- tians. The teachers of De La Salle act as instruments of the Holy Spirit, guiding and enlightening the boys under their care. Thus, His symbol is an appro- priate one for the faculty section.
