' .al Members attend one of the monthly luncheon meetings in the The Christian Brothers Auxiliary of De La Salle is composed for the most part of mothers of present and former students of De La Salle Collegiate and St. Joseph's High School. These ladies have taken it upon themselves to help the Christian Brothers in their work here in De- troit. Each year they run a card party to raise funds for the benefit of the Brothers. They also sponsor other activities that are a great source of consolation and helptothe Brothers. For this help the Brothers are indeed grateful. The most important event of the year for the Ladies' Auxiliary is the annual family Communion and Breakfast, which, this year, was held in our gym. School Cafeteria, Members of the Christian Brothers Auxiliary and their families receive Communion in a body in the school gym. ,,..+-

Sunday, November 28, 1954, was an important day in the history of our school. On that day the beautiful memorial tablet to Anthony hn J. Bodde, now imbedded in the wall of the school between the two t entrances to the main office, was unveiled, blest, and dedicated. is ww Many sincere friends of Mr. Bodde and De La Salle Collegiate at- tended these impressive ceremonies. Reverend Father Francis Bodde' Mr' Anthony Bodde's n e p h e w, blesses the memorial. To De La Salle, Mr. Anthony Bodde was both father and founderg to the De La Salle Alumni, he was honorary president since its inception. Himself a graduate of Saint .Toseph's High School in 1892, Mr. Bodde's faith, foresight and interest in the boys of the city of Detroit prompted him to gather around him a group of other good men to build another school for the Christian Brothers and their students. He became the first President of the Board of Trustees, sparked the drive that made our Alma Mater a realityg and zealously and ably guided the school through its infancy. In recognition of his charity and piety he was affiliated to the Order of the Christian Brothers. The memorial now erected to his memory will serve asaperpetual reminder to us all of the great debt we will ever owe this thoughtful and generous Catholic gentleman. Reverend Brother A.
