My Dear Graduates, This is your day, the one you looked forward to when you entered De La Salle four years ago. My sincere congratulations to you on your completion of a very important phase in your education. There are others who are due for felicitations on this occasion and to whom great credit is due. They are your parents, who, realizing the importance of a sound moral training, made at times great sacrifices to keep you in a private school. In sending you to De La Salle, they sought to give you the best training possible. They placed you in the care of men dedicated to the work of Catholic Education. You have received the best in spiritual, intellectual, social and physical development. The future belongs to you. Your success on the college level and in a very competi- tive world depends on how well you have accepted this training and likewise on the will you have to build a solid structure on this foundation. Your success is the only thanks your parents and teachers look for. May Our Lord and His Blessed Mother bless you and guide you through the rock strewn channels of life. This is my wish to you, the De La Salle Grad of 1955. Brother A. John, Brother A.
