Mr. Russell Foote taught this year Woodshop I for the ninth graders, Woodshop for 7th graders, one period of Math for 7th, and one period of Graphic Arts. Mr. Frank Stout, shop department chair- man, taught 3 periods of Metal Sth, two periods of Metal I, and one period of Math, eighth grade general. Mr. Leo Iennings,' taught 7th grade Graphic Arts, General Math, and Drafting l. He's been at De Anza for 15 years. He taught night school at Ventura College. Before he started teaching, he worked in a boat shop and fished commercially. In college Mr. Jennings was good at long jumping. He went to conference championship and AAU relays. Mrs. Brantner, this year, worked with the spe- cial class here in the afternoon. Upon resignation of a teacher over at El Camino she took the job as special teacher there. Mr. Whittaker taught the Mentally Handicapped this year. At the end of the first semester it was discontinued because of lack of funds, and he took over for Mrs. Brantner. This year Mrs. Winsor taught Remedial Reading and Spanish. Mrs. Winsor has been teaching at De Anza for twelve years. Mrs. Bowen has been teaching the educationally handicapped for three years here at De Anza. She got her teaching degree at UCLA: To the left top, is Mrs. Lofthus's guitar class. Introduced last year for the first time in our school district, the class has been a suc- cess. Students in this class furnish their own guitars and learn to read music.
