WUUD Vow, - 1 Some people just exist. Others really live. A few exceptional individuals Bring to life such enthusiasm That they make it more worth living For the rest of us. Such a person was Eunice Reed. She loved people And people loved her. She loved doing worthwhile things And she kept at it Until she succeeded. Eunice was one of the people who brought To DeAnza this year A rebirth of school spirit. In the photo to the left Eunice dances in a football costume, while in attend- ance at the Freak- Out Dance. She was the organizer and captain of the DeAnza drill team. The music they marched by was the hup, two, three, four called out by Eunice. On Wednesday, December 8th, 1971, DeAnza 's flag flew at half-rnast. Eunice 'N' S Reed had been killed in an automobile accident. The following Monday many of us attended her funeral - so many that some had to stand outside. Mr. Sheb Wooley, western music recording artist, whose daughter Christy was in the drill team, said that he would write a song for Eunice Reed, be- cause of what she had done to promote goodwill among girls of all colors. Heaven's flower garden Has a lot of different colors. Everyone is different And the rain falls on all You can see. And never knows the difference . . . Sheb Wooley 27

n MPV Awoldowufakesrtxlasbdww dwmdwwm! Our annual canned food drive went over better this year than ever before. Much thanks is due to chairman Leo Garcia and his car bash held Friday, November 19. To get a ticket to the car bash you had to bring a can of food to the canned food drive. See pictures on pages 27 to 31. The car was donated by the Avenue Wreckers. We gathered about 40 baskets of food to feed 80 needy families. Buena and Ventura High and other schools added about 40 baskets also. There were enough to feed about 160 needy families.
