This year De Anza students really got with it. They started many new clubs and groups that are setting examples for all the other junior highs in the district. They developed the De Anza Drill Team and Dance Club which are both the first of their kind. Other organizations such as the Student Council, Ninth Grade Organization, Social Committee, Year- book Staff, Girls' Council, and the Lancers have really worked hard and come up with great ideas to really help De Anza become the best. Thanks to the cooperation of the faculty and staff, we can honestly say, has beewtlwgwamsbgeamuvtlwlfisfoag oQDeAu3af' Team h Pictured at the right is De Anza's first Drill Team in their light and dark blue uniforms. All of the girls made their own uniforms or helped each other. Mrs. Pat Post sponsored the Drill Team. E A.Q.e. 056-ws sioners have really been great. They were the ones who came up with the idea of a Flip F1op schedule. They were the people sent of the fac- ulty. And as usual the idea was a big suc- cess. The commis- who got the con-

'AJ V - in , , In ' geafufwlv Because of all the semester changes this year the Stu- dent Council was divided into two semester groups. Left is the first semester Council and below is the second semester Council. The second semester Student Council members had to attend leadership meetings every Tuesday moming for five weeks. If they did not attend at least three of the five they would lose their position on the Council. Mem- bers were chosen in their first period classes. Sponsors of the Student Council were Mr. Dugan and Mr. Branham. Mr. White sponsored the leadership meetings on Tuesday momings and held them in his room. The com- missioners Q page 173 led the Council and took charge of everything. The Student Council helped the commissioners with the Flip Flop schedule idea. 'Siu' uv if , ff A Activities 79
