Dear Teachers and Fellow Students, At the end of this my richest year, I can only express how thankful I am to all those who made it possible for me to get this great experience. This year at De Anza has taught me appreciation of American Educational Methods and enlarged my scope of knowledge in many things especially graciousness of the American People and students alike. De Anza ' s students were very easy to make friends with and in return they accepted me as one of them. The faculty presented excellent mate- rial in knowledge and wonderful per- sonalities which made a great impres- sion on me and fond memories which I will take home with me. I hope that I have accomplished the purpose of my coming here. I have tried to tell you something about my Home country ' s situation and its problems and to have given a clearer picture of my country thru a fellow student ' s eyes. On the other hand, I received a wonderful impression from you. the people I have lived with and your great country. Upon my return to Germany I will endeavor to ex- press these new ideas and experiences in the most effective way. This is the first time in my life that I have had reason to be proud of a school, in this case De Anza. This pride came thru a good relationship and great consideration shown by both teachers and students. The past year will be unforgettable for me and will remind me in the future how close our two countries really are. This is the ultimate goal that our countries are trying to achieve and one in which will bind us closer together and cement a mutual bond of strength and unity. Ulrich Boehm 160
