Homecoming DHS' gala occasion The thrill and excitement of Homecoming was a suspended moment at DeWitt High Oct. 17. From among the six Senior class maids, the Dragon squad had chosen Shelia Spears as queen and Susan Anderson as Maid of Honor. It was a suspended moment when Master of Ceremonies Mike Wright made the long-awaited announcement in candlelight ceremonies at the high school au- ditorium that afternoon. Each maid and her escort marched to the stage for presentation, and after the queen and honor maid were named, there was musical entertainment and rousing cheers led by the cheerleaders. That evening prior to the DeWitt-Marvell game, royalty was presented on the football field.
