THE SPEAKS Monte Lichtiger Most of us have recently given four years of our lives for the process of commencement and now stand on the threshold of life with solemn wonder. We have finally achieved our immediate goal, that of helping our teachers to prepare us for an active part in our democratic way of life. In time, we will alleviate the burdens of our parents and seek the path of righteousness and success. However, once found, this path may prove a diflicult one to conquer, even to the blossoming optimism of youth. Various obstacles may, at times, seem insurmountable, but, nevertheless, We will consistently strive to better ourselves and achieve our common purpose. No doubt, We have all thought about a glorious future enhanced with whatever attributes we may attain for ourselves through constant applica- tion of the golden rule. Yet, how many of us Will really try to assume a responsibility which Will benefit others as Well as ourselves. We are the future America! We will have to assume the burdens of the free world! No job in our democratic society is too important or too unimportant. I Wish you luck in Whatever Held of endeavor you may enter. MONTE LICHTIGER EDITQR-IN-CHIEF
