We struggled through college applications, feverishly, worrying what this or that item meant, despite the fact that most of us would enter the armed forces on graduating .... The names of Schayes, Kaufman, and Campbell were on the tip of everyone's tongue, as Clinton's thoughts turned to basketball. . . . We won the Bronx championship, but were defeated by a strong Franklin quintet in the semi-finals ..., We took every type of test: the V-12, A-12, Radio Technician, Air Force Reserve, and the intrastate scholarship exam .... Class Nite was swell ..,. Regents Week we hit the jackpot .... Practically everyone had at least three exams .... Graduation drew nearer .... Finally, the great day arrived ..,. A few speeches, a few awards, and then our diplomas. . . . Suddenly we realized that it was all over .... Four years of work and fun that we would always remember .... AND NOW THE FUTURE IS OURS! We received our Senior Civil War chapeaux .... Gee, they looked so nice when We voted for them .... But the undergraduates were impressed, and the girl friend isn't choosy, anyway .... Loud groans echoed throughout the school when We received our graduation photo proofs .... Still louder ones could be heard when we learned we had to take them back in person .... With Mrs. Whalen's return, the Magpie published another memorable issue ....
