X .-.-.-,--up-M. nn-avunnn 1 -, , Quill Hill gil Taking its cue from the town c-rier in days of yore, the Clinton News brings the important happenings of our school to over 4,500 readers, This semester, the News included among its regular features a war news column and an alumnotes column featuring news from Clinton alumni in the Armed Forces. With Norman Altman as Editor-in-chief, and a staff including M. Emanuel- News Editor, P. Barru-Features Editor, H. Dickstein-Sports Editor, W, Brady-Page Four Editor, N. Reingold-Stall Edi- tor, and L. Fox-Headlines Editor, the News continues sending copies to our alumni in the Services. Mr. R. Philipson and Mr. M. Eerber act as Faculty Adviser and Business Manager respec- tively. After a lapse of one semester, the Magpie again resumed pub- lication. The Magpie gives Clinton students an opportunity to express their literary and artistic abilities. With Mrs. M. Whalen as Faculty Adviser, the staff was headed by D. The dash for the doors as Mr. lahoda's shrill whistle Cuts through the air . . . Waiting for a late pass in the lunchroom . . . Confusion in section . . , The forty- three minutes that never passed quickly enough . . . The six-minute dash to your next period in four-minutes' time . . . The end of the day when weary Clintonites dropped their inhibitions and ran wildly for home, to their clubs, or to cheer their team on in Gym Ill . . . While these thoughts race through their minds, they know that those happy, carefree years are gone forever, although they can never be erased from the minds and hearts of Clinton men. 1940 . . . FALL: As the first few weeks of the term wore on, we freshmen gradually got over the gym-spot buying and Towerf climbing stage, only to be faced with a new horror: the glamorous SENIOR ' COUNCH, GUERNSEY SQUAD
