From High School to Business Read This Free Bulletin Before You Start Out To Secure A Position . The change from School to Business is not an easy one to make suc- cessfully. It is not that business men, as a rule, discredit the value of a high-school education. They know that this education does increase your ability to think, to reason, to decide. You are confident that the education secured at high-school has equipped you for worth-while work in business. It is disheartening then that business men insist that you begin at the bottom at the lowest weekly salary. Why Begin at the Bottom When You Have Had Four Years of Good Trainingi' Business Men insist that you begin at the bottom because your school education has been general, while the work in their office is made up of specific detailed duties. It is necessary to learn to do these specific tasks, usually beginning with the least important duties in the office. It is possible for any high-school graduate, before going to work, to become familiar with some of the methods employed in modern business ofhces. The graduate may also learn, under the guidance ot instructors experienced in business, how to do definite things, such as the recording of cash recepits and payments, the calculation of pay-rolls, the keeping of card-files or loose-leaf records of purchases, rates, and stock inventor- ies. the use of adding machines and of duplicating appliances. Equipped with this knowledge, the high-school graduate's entry into business can be made with a reasonable assurance of immediate success. The Free Bulletin OFFICE TRAINING tells how this knowledge may be gained in twenty lessons. The high-school student who is determined on success in business will also be interestediin the Fall classes at the Pace Institute.
