Cheerleaders Squads Follow Team To West Virginia Varsity cheerleaders and Tigerettes traveled to Parkersburg, West Virginia with parents of football players hoping to inspire the Tigers to victory. The varsity squad sponsored the second cheerleading clinic, netting overS100. This paid for their overnight stay. Tigerettes spent Saturday mornings during the winter practicing new cheers and routines which they displayed at baseball games. The money they earned selling candy helped pro- vide new uniforms and orange jackets. Reserve cheerleaders placed personal ads in the Prism's Christmas and Valentine's Day issues encouraging their teams. Freshmen cheerleaders were a familiar sight practicing in the halls after school. Mrs. Roberta Rakestraw, cheerleading ad- viser, assisted with projects and guided the writing of a constitution.
