CfOl1ver', Rates vations Playing to full houses for all performances, Oliver broke records when it became the first musical at DeVilbiss to receive standing ova- tions. The Stagecraft and Lighting class con- tributed greatly to the success of the show by building an extraordinary set which included a revolving stage and platforms at various levels. Under the general direction of Mr. Thomas Bollin, and the musical direction of Mr. Robert Baggs and Mr. Dan Kronfield, over 200 students and faculty members organized, rehearsed, and performed the show in just seven weeks. .R.O. Imitates Broadway Shows Beginning in June, General Chairman Barb Cooper and Student Director John Faichney reviewed Broadway Shows and periodical pub- lications in search of innovative ideas for the Deviltries '70. The resulting S.R.O. CStand- ing Room Onlyl reflected intense preparation and varied talents in acting, singing, instrumental music and dancing. The story line follows two up-and-coming stars of stage and screen, Elaine Goodman and David Wright, who meet one day while exploring the scene of their first audition. Elaine receives the attention of the renowned actor, Reginald Fairlocks, and the leading role in Tony Piasanols newest play, David portrays a waiter. He realizes that he loves Elaine and conspires with Stephanie Le- beau to undermine the Reginald! Elaine romance. This results in series of comic situations. Upper right: Production Dancers, Beth Robinson, Linda Folger, Ben Wendell, Bob Wilds, Bob Walden, Barb Dunlap, Al Snyder and Karen Rupp, perform a lively and original routine to Feelin Groovy. Far right Sheila Cook, Joyce Goree, Charles McDaniel, Derrik Roberts and Kay Robinson perform as the group Aquarius Individually they interpret popular rock and soul. Right: Director Tony Piasano CGeorge Sarantoub enjoys the attention of Usherettes Betty Reek, Diane Klotz, Judy Kovacs, and Ann McWilliam.
