Change and enthusiasm characterized the l968 lDeVilbiss Homecoming. September 20, the first Homecoming Friday without a crown- ing assembly, found seniors demonstrating in the courts, students qfttending a make-shift assembly after fschoolfa-nd TADS cheering at the afternoon ffootballngame. The half-time activities of the game featured our marching band, cars and trucks fi decorated by school clubs and organizations, and the crowning of Marsha Covrett as queen. The excitement of the game's finale, in which Mel Gaines scored with just seven seconds remaining, and a Homecoming victory, carried through to Satur- day night's dance. Tiger Safari invited stu- dents into the tropical jungle of the cafeteria for an evening of hot excitment, curfew, and dancing under the stars. Senior Sorelles show their spirit by decorating the car of Carolyn Schmertz. Curfew Hamper This year's Homecoming court included Debbie Adams and Sue Figlarz. The band and cheerleaders await the arrival of the team. ,

Sure enough, that is what the Spirit Committee produced. Original Laugh ln skits were presented at all the basketball assemblies, In addition, the committee also presented skits for Donald Sharpe Day. As a group, they attended the Central football game, where they threw suckers to the fans. They painted signs en- couraging TADS to attend cross-country, track, and swim meets, as well as basketball and football games. To raise money for these signs, they held two bake sales, and sold Tiger Power buttons, Through this com- mittee spirited students organized and pro- moted enthusiasm and spirit in the entire student body.
