In the furnace of each person's ambitions, the ex- periences of youth are refined into the forces that shape the future of mankind. As young people encounter success and defeat, joy and sorrow, enthusiasm and apathy, the conflict of these experiences is mirrored in personal expression. The ability to deal with these con- flicts is a measure of maturity. As today's youth acknowledge a changing world, they are also altered. Each 111llSt construct a separate peace with his surroundings and seek his own truths. At De- Vilbiss, we have attempted to establish this peace, but have found we are only just beginning a long journey toward maturity. fe- , aff? h,- Lf.gzfZ , I , X,4,:'7Z,i9 ,144-2741-fi' ffeffff H I' 'Q--'3 lf741,f?4fx,5'f'? In this first contest, the Tigers met the Knights of St. Francis in the University of To- ledo Glass Bowl. Despite the gloomy predictions of sportswriters, the marching band and Tiger fans turned out en masse to cheer. Although the team did not win in the scoring column, the Tiger spirit remained un- conquered. ' f fx
