Is Always Jlloving and Improving This year, DeVilbiss students found changes in their school Althou h the main building erected in 1930, , - ' 3 1 remained the same, a new gas heating system radically changed the powerhouse behind the school. This build- ing, which has been a feature of orientation class tours, was windowless all summer as engineers redesigned the heating system, converting it from coal to gas. After the reconditioning, the equipment was painted according to a national code in a variety of brilliant colors. Tads also arrived at school earlier this year. For the orchestra and ten first hour classes, school began at 7:30 a.m. The remainder of the students started at 8:30 a.m. Instead of a homeroom period, both second and third hours were 75 minutes. The earlier morning starting hour resulted in earlier lunch periods, which were es- pecially welcome to the seniors. Seventh hour bells rang at 3:00 p.m. giving students more after-school time to participate in athletic events, club activities, rand dramatic productions.
