J 5 ' ., f f C'-f ackf ?66 Cf QQ, In November, MQ, theyvfolters of To- ledo passed the school levy which ex- pedited the recent building of new schools. The contracts were let soon after and the architects began work on a design. After consultation with the administration and teachers, a plan was submitted and approved. Now, for the first time, an architect's drawing of the new West Toledo high school is unveiled to the public. Beyond these barren facts is the spirit of progress necessarily inherent in the efforts. Not only a hard working school board but a sympathetic citizen- ry was essential. Without both ele- ments, success could not have been achieved. The students of DeVilbiss are very much a part of this building program, both as workers for it and causes of it. luniors and seniors recall handing out literature to influence people to pass the levy. Freshmen and sophomores, part of the post-war baby boom, pro- voked the necessity of the new build- ings. DeVilbiss as a school also has been changed. Until the building can be finished, we have been on an extended schedule. Although this plan has changed DeVilbiss, we are still cap- able of progress. Through all-out ef- forts of the administration, faculty, and students the obvious disadvantages of the schedule can be overcome. DeVil- biss, as always, can move forward.
