For the above reasons We have chosen 'The Bridge of DeVilbiss as our theme in order to pay tribute and give praise to our school which has carried us over to our first destina- tion. That is, it has opened to us the mysteries of the World in which We live and has given us encouragement that all these mysteries can be conquered by many and various bridges. DeVilbiss High School With its beautiful Colonial architecture and surrounding campus, DeVilbiss l-ligh School presents a majestic and inspiring sight to the citizens of Toledo. Although established over twenty-seven years ago, the school still retains its inward and out- ward beauty despite the nearly three decades of use. The widespread use of numerous shade trees beautifies the cam- pus and affords students many oppor- tunities to study in quiet and peaceful surroundings. DeVilbiss has two parking lots: one at the south end of the building for the use of the faculty, another on the north side of the school for the benefit of the students. At the west end of the school is a magnificent stadium that seats ten-thousand spectators for football games and track meets. Within the school, the red tile floors in the halls and the pale green walls pro- vide a pleasant atmosphere for work and play for students and faculty alike. Along the walls are numerous paintings and murals done by the students themselves. DeVilbiss is one of the more fortunate schools in the area in having the use of two gymnasiums. The boys' gym has a balcony for sport fans to view top-notch athletic contests. Over all, DeVilbiss is a place of serene tranquillity, extending to all a welcome, and never a goodbye.
