The Student Council Directs All . . . Iohn Ferch With the election of Iohn Perch as Student Council president and the selection of the commissioners last spring, the student body settled down to await the 1953-1954 school year. Early this fall the commissioners met and selected the motto Let's do more in '54. From a glance at the minutes of the meetings, one can see that they have fulfilled their purpose. First on the agenda was the Magazine Drive. Under the direction of lim Kier, Welfare Commissioner, and Dave King, Commissioner of Finance, De- Vilbiss topped all previous records by hitting the 320,000 mark. Mary Finkenbiner, Commissioner of Organizations, chartered fifty-three clubs, an all-time high. George Osborne, School Service Commissioner, and Ken Strader, Commissioner of Iustice, issued the proper penalties for the school's violators. The Commissioners of Publicity and Assemblies, Linda Mayo and Ann Penn, kept us all informed about the important events with posters and auditorium programs. The outstanding social events of the year were Revelries and the Area Student Council Dance arranged by Lois Thal, Commissioner of Social Affairs. :Kiss 5 c Z0 Dave King, Finance, lim Kier, Welfare.
