., - Cheer up' This Froshmore tournament isnt that important The Sophomore is a wise and confident individual for the experience ol one year at Dehfilbiss has seemingly dis- pelled all his ignorance. No longer one of the green nevv- comers, he is maturing to a rich yellovv. A Sophomore has no need to study in the evening, lor he has learned hovv much easier it is to do geometry on a radiator at 8:30 A.lVl, l-le is, perhaps, the only person in school being neither conceited nor illiterate, Clust asl4 himfhell be glad to verily thisj The only thing that this Sophomore cannot un- derstand is vvhy the upperclassman smiles each time he freely gives his advice to hopelessly immature Freshmen.

SE LL O A GR RES MO O PH SO Janice Stroup, Secretary, Gayla Fuller, Treasurer, Jack Davidson, President Claudia Grover, Vice Pres At the beginning ol each year a group ol students is seen, still a little green, but determined to lind a place lor them- selves. This year was no exception and when the opening day ol school came, we, the Sophomores, came with it ready to help everyone, and ready to be helped. We assisted the Freshman Class in getting socially orientated by Forming a joint social group-the Froshmores. ln the Froshmores we renewed old acquaintances as we made new lriends in the two classes. We had our elections and chose competent leaders. Jaclc Davidson was elected president, Claudia Grover, Vice-President, Gayla Fuller, Treasurer, and Janice Stroup, Secretary. As we had no activities ol our own other than the Froshmore parties, we supported the dances and plays oi the Juniors and Seniors, dreaming of the day when they would be our dances and our plays. We all joined clubs to become acquainted with the upperclassmen. Qur talent was used in the DeViltries, Afapella claimed some ol our voices, those ol us who were interested in publi- cations worl4ed on the Pot C' Gold and Prism stalls, we applied for positions on Commissions, Committees, Night Relays. All this participation in our beginning years, we realize, is a necessary prelude to more active school and class service in the next two years. l.oolcing ahead with wisdom and loresight we chose Miss Mildred Schmidt and Mr. Tom lnman as our advisers to help us plan our future activities. These days have been memorable ones For the Sophomores. We have gained much wisdom and are closer to receiving that diploma.
