AFTER HER flrst year as mascot, senlor Heidi Townsel ls ready for it to be over. Photo by Shawn Seaney o r T e x a s 150th birth- day of inde- p e n d e n c e and for DHS, this year's col- ors were red, white, and blue. Red was seen in the anger of the no pass-no play consequences and the in- troduction and execution of the dreaded drug dogs. These were two of the many attempts to help correct the school sys- tem's problems. White was the theme as new walls, bleach- ers, and halls were built in the new wing, senior cafeteria, gym, and football stadium. The extra room helped to ease the overcrowdedness, but it was still a bit aggravating to get down the crowded halls. Blue was the mood as teachers took the TECAT, juniors took the TEAMS, and seniors took their last walk out of DHS. Some shed tears after these activities but most held their heads high. By the end, it still seemed as if DHS was a bit overcrowded and there was still one and a half students in a place built for one. With this and the colors, everyone was definitely SESQUISIZED! by Betty Coggins and Shara Stuart 26O!
