TOef 76e Senio 'DecCictite 76e Fond Memories The memory of Sister Sheilo Hanley, known to us os Sister Sheila, will be a lasting one for years to come. For nor only hos DeSoles High School lost o greor Business teacher and a special friend but also o person who always put herself lost so that her students would come first. Sister Sheilo meant something to oil of us. She was always there when we needed her. In her quiet, unobtrusive way, she provided whatever we asked; whether it wos extra help, guidance, or just o helping hand. We ore richer and more fortunate to hove known a person like Sister. She wos truly o Good Samaritan and we ore grateful. We would like to hove adopted her forever but God wonted her with him too! Thank you, God, for showing us your kindness and love through the service and life of Sister Sheilo. We loved her! — Maureen Heieck 4 — Mary McCusker Sdiedlcuv 7 Vesuy Sfoeci C PenAon Sister Sheila Hanley worked or DeSales High School for more than 20 years as the head of the Business Deportment, reaching business courses, office practice, government, and economics. Her humor was known widely among the students of post and present; almost as widely os her sternness and her determination. She was the youngest of seven children born of Irish im- migrants. She grew up in Rochester's Holy Rosary Parish. She at- tended Nazareth Academy and upon her graduation in 1943 she took o job or what she colled Kodak UniversityAfter a few years or Eastman she joined the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1946. She then earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Ad- ministration from Nazareth College ond went on to receive her Master’s from Ohio University. Before coming to live or DeSales Sr. Sheila taught or several parochial elementary schools, including St. Ambrose, Blessed Sacrament, Sr. Jerome ond Sr. Francis Xavier, all of Rochester. Sr. Sheila left us unexpectedly on Saturday, November 8, 1985. God must hove needed her for on awfully good reason to rake her from us, those who needed her ond loved her. She will be remembered by all of us forever. 5 Adiviiu Studeat (poctaciC 02foe eadewfafc £ac (?Ca4 Student Council Officers STUDENT COUNCIL MEMBERS — Row 1: Jennifer Clark. Becky Hunter.
