I've been alive forever and I wrote the very first song. Music is our theme. We hear the slow beat of morning, the increasing tempo of day, and the heavy sound of evening. Today’s songs sing of our lives. This organization is S. O. S. Two and a half years ago, January 26, 1975, we were given the disheartening news that our school was to close after sixty-three years of operating in Geneva. Certain people refused to give in to what seemed inevitable. These people came to be known as members of S. O. S. - SAVE OUR SCHOOL. It is past history now that they did the impossible: raised eighty thousand dollars in thirty days and eventually handed over a check for one- hundred thousand dollars, which put DeSales back on its feet. The story that hasn't been told is today’s story - dedicated people like Mr. Joe D'Amico who has one idea after another for bringing in funds, or of the entire Muzzi family who organized Monday night Bingo. Is there any project that doesn't have the help of the Crough family, Mrs. Rice, or Mr. or Mrs. DeRaddo? Your constant contact is Mrs. Monahan. We have not named them all, nor all the projects that they run, but we want all the members of S. O. S. to know that we are grateful. 13 Mr. and Mrs. Philip Crough We are all in this 14 When we conquer CLASS LEADERS make beautiful music together. The championship wound down to the last twenty-eight seconds when Lyons scored the deciding touchdown. The offense was led by quarterback Doug Graham who topped the league with thirteen touchdown passes, scoring two himself. Tom Bucklin, the most versatile player, took on the chores of punter, extra-point kicker, kick-off man, and defensive back, scoring nine touchdowns during the season. Other Wharf Rats who put points on the board were: Mike Riley with nine TD's; Doug Smaldone, and Tim Tapscott, with four; Jeff Westfall, John Quethera and Bill Tapscott with two; Lou Ventura, Dan Ninestine and Jim Maher with one each. Coaching duties were headed by Harry Furman, the mastermind behind DeSales football for the past eight years. Linemen sweated under the direction of Bill McNicholas and Dave Bardwell. Across the U.S. soccer has become one of the most exciting games around. And this year, under the guidance of Miss Ann Smith, DeSales created a soccer team. The team record was 0-10, but the record does not reflect the knowledge the team experienced on the field. Jody Lavin topped all scorers with 8 goals, followed by Renie Klestinec with 6, and Maureen Golden with 2. The efforts of Allison Venuti, Christine Maher, Jane McNicholas, Laurie Schibley, and Tina Lorsong were well noted. The team is looking forward to next year. When we talked to Doug, he said ”Vol- leyball is a part of my life. This year the team will be going to the sectionals and their chances of succeeding are very likely, mainly because of the coaching of Mr. Ned Hickey and Mr. Bob Taney. Also assisting is Mr. Spellecy. Moving Up Day, maybe too early or too late in the year, was meaningful to the Juniors just the same! Along with the bless- ing and presentation of the school rings by Fathers Antinerelli and Leone, a slide presentation high- lighted the class of Seventy Eight’s memories and a party fol- lowed. All agreed, this could be the start of something good. With this ring . . Dan sets the tone with the slide narration. Chris, Mike, Jim, Jamie, and Sally stare in hunger at the deco- rated cake. Arlene, Karen, Todd receive food for thought. 95 The Whole Truth Brenda Paulton THE WHOLE TRUTH CAST Lewis Paulton Brenda Paulton Deenie Inspector Brett Hugh Carliss Officer Petty Officer Briggs Marion Grey Jill Cora Judy Justin Busch Debbie Murphy Donna Amatulli Mike D’Amico James Hart Janet Tyler Anne Quigley Holly Cortelyou Ann Kenny Kathy Rice Jamie Welcher Inspector Brett Deenie Brenda convinces Lewis of her belief in his innocence.
