La y Dragons Bonita puts it in the hoop. The Lady Dragons started offa good season by placing third in the Westlake Tournament, first in the Jennings Tour- nament and Jasper Tournament. and third in the Buckeye Tournament. They also defeated Jena, Peabody, and Tioga in non-district play. Under the coaching of Jimmy Carpenter and Ron Mayeaux, the girls finished the district season with a fan- tastic l2-0 record. The Lady Dragons traveled to New Iberia for the first play- off game and defeated the Yellow Jackets 58-46. They defeated Minden here in Dragon territory by a score of5 I-42. H. S. players entered the Sweet 16 state play-offs with a 71-56 victory over Landry. They broke the record of scoring the most points in one game for Class AAAA. The Lady Dragons played the final game of the Sweet 16 against the Lady Tors of Hammond. They were defeated by 52-63 in a tough game. They accepted the title of state runnerup AAAA. Pam Crawford was named to the All Sweet which was selected by the Louisiana High School Association's All Star selection committee.
