XVIH' Randy Haley Randy excelled throughout his four years at DHS, both in the classroom and on the athletic field. His scholastic standing was marked by his selection for the Beta Club his junior and senior years. He participated for three years in the Socials Studies and Science Fairs. As a senior he was elected to the Student Council. Randy made known his athletic abilities by participating in track, basketball, and football. He lettered twice in the latter and received the most valuable player award. As a member of the Key Club his sophomore through his senior year, he held the office of secretary. He attended the Key Club Convention. He was a member of the FCA, also. mayb' '- 'X 11112217 Connie Archer 54fWho's Who Connie has contributed much to DeR1dder High School, both in music and journalism. She was a member of the band her freshman and sophomore year. For two years, she was considered an outstanding Low Clarinet. During her junior year she was a member of the district V Honor Band and chosen section leader. She was selected for the La. All-Star Marching Band and attended the McNeese Clinic Band. Connie worked on the Drag-On Staff for two years, as Features Editor and then Editor-in-Chief. She was also on the Annual Staff for two years as photographer and Assistant Editor. Connie was a member of the Juniorette Club her senior year. She was nominated for Who's Who Among American High School Students and she attended the Literary Rally in chemistry.

Michelle Thomas Michel1e's golden hair and quick wit are two traits well known throughout DHS. Michelle has attended DHS the past four years, receiving many honors and recognition. She has been a member of several clubs including the Drama Club, Key Club, and Beta Club. She served the Drama Club her junior year as a cast member, and received the lead, female, chorus part in the school play, Little Mary Sunshine. She served the Key Club as the Senior Sweetheart and rendered her services to the Beta Club her junior and senior year becoming the Vice-President her senior year. She served the DHS Band and was in the Drum Corps three years. As a sophomore, Michelle became a member of the Explorer Unit at the Beauregard Memorial Hospital. As a junior, Michelle joined the gymnastics team as their manager. During her senior year, she was very busy serving the DHS Annual Staff as an assistant and serving on the Homecoming Court. To high- light her four years at DHS, Michelle was nominated to Who's Who Among American High School Students. Ju dy Powell Academically Judy possessed much devotion and assiduous- ness. As a student she excelled these assets in various clubs and activities. Throughout her four years at DHS she has been a member of the Chess Club, French Club, Drama Club, Leo Club, and Beta Club. She held the offices of Secretary Treasurer in the Chess Club, Reporter then Vice-President in the French Club, Vice-President in the Drama Club, and Treasurer and then Presi- dent her senior year in the Leo Club. Judy also participated in several Literary Rallies at Northwestern State University. During her junior year, Judy served as Features Editor of the Dragon-On Newspaper Staff. To highlight her four years at DHS, Judy was invited to participate in the LSU Invitational Spring Testing Program. MV II'I1

Donna Lelune Donna's radiant personality has been an asset experienced by almost all those at DHS. Donna began her freshman year in 1976 and then attended summer school following her sophomore year to earn enough credits in order to graduate with the class of '79. She has participated in several clubs available at DHS. As a freshman she began to serve diligently the Junior Civitan Club. During her senior year she was nominated into the Beta Club. In the athletic field, Donna took part in track and cross country. Aside from school, she has won many awards in pianog she has participated for two years in a vocal group called Sunshine. 1 Charles Lee Charles attended DHS for two years during which he compiled an enviable scholastic record. In the High School Scholastic Rally he was rated high both in French and algebra. An accomplished writer, he placed first in the Parish Poetry Contest and second in the Essay Contest. In state competition he received first place in the Essay Contest, also. His talent of expressing his thoughts in writing is equaled by his oral expression. In speech Charles received an honorable mention and was runner up in duet acting. He is a member of Pilot Pack, Library Club, Drama f Speech Club, and French Club. Charles' sport is tennis. On the court, his team was first in the District Boys Doubles and finished in the Top Ten of State Competition. Charles desires to attend college in pre-medicine. Freddy Anderson In his four years at DeRidder High School, Freddy has been an active member of various clubs. He became a sturdy member of the Key Club his sophomore year and served as a sophomore Board Member. During his junior year he became the Vice-President and then highlighted his senior year by becoming President. Freddy also rendered his services to the Student Council his last three years at DHS. He held the office of Vice-President and also served on the handbook committee. Other clubs in which Freddy participated were the FFA and FCA. He also held an outstanding record in the athletic field. He was on the track team his freshman year. He played baseball his freshman and sophomore years and football all four years. As a football player he lettered three years. As a senior he was chosen M' IH' SJ captain of the football team.
