Library Club The DHS Library Club changed their name to the Organi- i zation of Library Aides QOLAJ this past year. The main l purpose of the club is to gain insight into the philosophies and operations of a library and to experience actual practice in the organization ofa library, The members must be enrolled in one semester of the Library Resource Aide block for membership qualifications. The club participated in National Library Week and l National Book Week. OLA sponsored a Book Fair on April t 9-12. The Fair had a selection of many different types of books and posters. lt was enjoyed by all. i They also held a raffle for two Sweet Sixteen basketball tickets. Miss Hawn, Mrs. l-lanchey, and Mrs. Steele did a finejob in providing leadership for the OLA members. The members can challenge each other in the game or anyone else that is interested. The club sponsored a dance in the DHS cafeteria and held a car wash as fund-raisers. They entered a car in the Beauregard Parish Fair Parade in October 1978. The Chess Club participated in a tournament, also.
